5 STORIES (WEEK 2)
1. Fabien stood up, his heart palpitating. He never felt like this before, not even when he was in an exam hall, when the bell would ring to indicate it was time to hand up their scripts. Fabien was afraid of water, but with a leap of faith, he dove in.

2. Melissa furiously scribbled on a piece of paper. This was it, this was her final big chance, and they don’t come by easily. Then, praying in her heart, she passed the paper along the aisle until it reached Conner. He read it, and nodded. She had asked him out finally.

3. Holding her gun steadily, Lucy takes in a deep breath and kicks the door opens. “Don’t move!” she shouts. As she scans the room, she sees many people cowering on the floor, faces filled with fear. They were hostages. “You are all safe now,” she said, and lowered her gun.

4. Matilda fell to the ground with a loud thud, the phone slipping out of her hands and tumbling across the room. Dad had been in an accident. The police had called. They were sure it was him from his identity card. One dreaded phone call, and her life changed forever.

5. Tearing it open precariously, Linny looked on nervously. What lied in the nondescript brown envelope would determine her future in a spilt second. She nervously unfolded the thin white paper, scanning through the words. “Your application was accepted, congratulations!” was the only sentence she focused on. She breathed and smiled.

Do remember the golden rule of Storytelling that you need to write in the present tense!
